Liberty Children's Foundation

At Liberty Children’s Foundation, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to thrive – academically, socially, and personally – regardless of their starting point. Established to widen horizons and remove barriers for young people, the Foundation focuses on building the skills, confidence and character required to succeed in an increasingly complex world.

Our mission is simple: to equip children and young people with the tools they need to shape their futures with independence, ambition and resilience.

To achieve this, we have developed three pathways that offer a range of opportunities that reflect the needs of today’s learners and the realities of tomorrow’s world.  These pathways are available to children and families of Liberty schools, as well as the communities that surround them.

1. Employability Pathway

Uncertain job markets and rapidly changing industries mean young people need more than qualifications—they need guidance, confidence and real‑world experience and we will do this through:

  • The development of Post‑16 mentoring to support informed decisions and smooth transitions.
  • Engaging in partnerships that support increased access to employability skills programmes that build communication, teamwork and problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Expanding our approach to apprenticeships with support that helps young people access high‑quality vocational routes into meaningful careers.

Through personalised guidance and practical opportunities, we aim to help young people build clear, sustainable pathways into adulthood.

2. Education for a Digital Age Pathway

Technology is transforming how we learn, work and interact. To prepare students for the future, we are championing innovation and digital literacy through:

  • The development of digital and creative technologies that enhance learning and imagination.
  • The development of a dedicated Parent Portal to strengthen home–school partnerships.

This pathway ensures every learner gains the technological fluency and creative confidence required in a digital-first world.

3. Resilience and Character Education Pathway

Academic success matters, but so do confidence, empathy, courage and curiosity. Our third pathway builds the character strengths that empower young people to flourish, through:

  • An extension to extra-curricular programmes that broaden skills and interests.
  • Offering experiences beyond the norm, opening children’s eyes to wider possibilities.
  • Opportunities such as Duke of Edinburgh, Eco Schools, and Lyfta Time, promoting global awareness, leadership and personal growth.

By nurturing resilience, curiosity and integrity, we help young people become responsible, confident citizens.

Together, these pathways form the heart of the Liberty Children’s Foundation—empowering every child to imagine, pursue and achieve a brighter future.
